Storytelling Workshops with Bill

Children's Workshops/Residencies:
In schools, churches, and other organizations.  These and other workshops and residencies can be designed according to your needs.
 
  • Children Tell Stories (Kindergarten and older)
    Through modeling and participation, children learn the art of Storytelling, by looking atthe kinds of stories, experiencing how to craft a story, how to learn a story, and share it with others.  

  • Children Do Puppets (Grade 3 and older)
    Through modeling and participation, children learn the art of puppetry by practicing techniques, sampling and performing puppet skits, looking at staging and scenery, and going from story to skit.

Adult & Youth Workshops:
For schools, churches, community groups, community education programs, etc., these and others can be designed according to your needs.
  • Your Voice, Your Words, Your Eyes (Storytelling 101)
    This workshop includes:  the examination of different sources for your storytelling; how to craft a story; how to learn, not memorize a story; and, tools for telling a story.

  • Tell Your Story
    Participants learn how to develop their own story through creative exercises and share it with others.

  • Tell Your Family Story 
    Participants learn to tell their family story beyond a genealogical chart.

  • Finding God in Your Story 
    Participants learn methods of discerning where and when God is in their story.

  • M & M
    Midrash and Memoir in studying, reading and teaching the Bible.  Participants develop midrash and memoir stories that can help in understanding a Biblical text/story.

  • Discerning, Developing and Sharing Your Faith Story 
    Participants learn ways of discerning their faith story, developing their faith story, and sharing their faith story.

  • Storytelling in Adult Groups With Some Memory Loss                                                                                                                     With different themes and prompting, participants learn share stories from their lives.
  • Storytelling in Children’s Messages 
    Participants learn the sources of stories for children's messages, examine stages of childhood development for the type of story to be used, examine the use of a puppet or prop for storytelling, and craft a story to tell.
